The application of consumer research methods to certain problems of Army feeding is described. Food preferences of troops in the Zone of Interior are investigated to provide a basis for planning more acceptable menus. Preliminary investigations of quantative measurement of food consumption is presented. A technique for sampling the Army in the Zone of Interior is presented together with some aspects of questionnaire development for food preference studies. The results of the studies are discussed in general terms.
